Meet Steve
I’m Steve, a 57-year-old club golfer from Wiltshire, currently playing off a 6.7 handicap.
Not so long ago, I was seriously considering giving up golf. I was frustrated with my game and had lost much of the enjoyment that kept me playing.
Then my partner Emma started playing, and her enthusiasm reminded me why I’d loved golf in the first place. We began playing together, and I found myself enjoying the game again.
I’ve since broken par for the first time, and I’m now looking forward to seeing how good I can become as I head towards 60.
Steve Plays Golf is where I’ll share that journey, from the good rounds and bad ones to the courses I play, equipment I use and everything I learn along the way.

After all these years playing golf, I still haven’t got everything worked out, and I doubt I ever will.
Some days I play brilliantly. Other days I wonder where my golf swing has disappeared to. But that’s part of what makes the game so interesting.
Now I’m enjoying sharing the experience with Emma, helping her develop her game while continuing to work on my own.
