Over the years I’ve played golf at courses around the UK, but most of my golf these days takes place at Cumberwell Park in Wiltshire.

Cumberwell Park Golf Club
Cumberwell Park is my home club, which I joined in 2026 after previously playing at Westbury Golf Club.
With five different nine-hole courses: Red, Yellow, Blue, Orange and White and a separate Par 3 Course, there’s plenty of variety.
Emma and I have been exploring the different courses and documenting how the individual holes play.

Playing Cumberwell Park
Since joining Cumberwell Park, I’ve played the courses in several different ways, from competitions and social golf to practice rounds where the score matters rather less than what I’m trying to learn.
I’ve enjoyed some good results, including my first individual competition win at the club and finishing second with Emma, Luke and Rich in the Golf Shop Pro’s Day.
I’ve also experimented with different tees, including playing from the 6,917-yard Green tees after my coach suggested making practice golf as difficult as possible.
The more I play here, the more I’m learning about the individual courses, their hazards, the best places to position the ball and how different tees change the way each hole plays.
Some rounds go well. Others provide rather more material for Steve Plays Golf.
Other Golf Courses
Although Cumberwell Park is my home club, I also enjoy playing other courses whenever the opportunity arises.
From familiar local courses to somewhere completely new, I’ll share the rounds, photographs, videos and experiences that make each visit memorable.
